DocBook is a semantic XML format for structured technical documentation. ICML (InCopy Markup Language) is the XML story format used by Adobe InDesign and InCopy. Convertessa maps DocBook elements to ICML paragraph and character styles so content flows directly into an InDesign layout without re-keying.
Drag one or more .dbk files onto Convertessa, or drop an entire folder to queue a batch. No upload — everything runs on your Mac.
Choose ICML (InCopy) from the output format list. Convertessa targets the InCopy story format (.icml) compatible with InDesign and InCopy CC.
Click Convert. Each DocBook file becomes a standalone .icml story file. Document metadata is stripped and no data leaves your Mac.
