Your files stay on your Mac.
JATS XML encodes journal articles as a structured tree — sections, abstracts, inline citations, and reference lists. Converting to Org Mode maps that tree to plain-text Org markup: section titles become Org headings, body paragraphs become prose, and tables carry over intact. The entire conversion runs locally; your files never leave your Mac.
Drag individual .jats files or an entire folder into Convertessa. Batch mode converts every JATS file in the folder in a single pass.
Choose Org Mode from the output format list. Convertessa maps JATS sections, abstracts, and inline elements to their Org Mode equivalents.
Click Convert. Each .jats file becomes a .org file ready to open in Emacs, Doom Emacs, or any Org-compatible editor. No upload, no account required.
