Headings, bold, italic, inline code, fenced code blocks, blockquotes, ordered and unordered lists, and hyperlinks all map to their Markdown equivalents. RST directives that have no Markdown counterpart are preserved verbatim inside a fenced code block so nothing is silently discarded.
Yes. Drag the entire source folder onto Convertessa and choose Markdown. Every .rst file in the folder — including subdirectories — is converted in a single pass.
reStructuredText is a plain-text format with no embedded file metadata, so there is nothing to strip. The output .md files are equally clean plain text.
