Your files stay on your Mac.
Convertessa unpacks the lossless Monkey's Audio stream from each .ape file and rewrites it into an AU container. AU is the native audio format of Sun and NeXT workstations, accepted by many audio tools on Unix and macOS. Because both sides of the conversion are lossless, your audio data comes through intact.
Drag one or more .ape files into Convertessa, or point the CLI at a file or a whole folder of files.
Pick AU from the output format list. Convertessa will write one .au file for every .ape source you dropped.
Convertessa decodes each Monkey's Audio file and encodes it into the AU container — entirely on your Mac, with no upload and no account required.
Images, audio, video, documents, archives and eBooks — all converted natively, right on your Mac.
