Your files stay on your Mac.
Convertessa reads your Monkey's Audio APE files and rewrites them as WavPack (WV) — a lossless container that works with more players, NAS devices, and media servers than APE does. No audio data is discarded: both formats are lossless, so the decode-and-re-encode cycle is bit-for-bit faithful to the source. Every step runs on your Mac; your files are never uploaded.
Drag one APE file or an entire album folder into Convertessa. Batch mode picks up every APE file in the folder and queues them in one pass.
Choose WavPack from the output format list. Because WavPack is lossless, no quality setting is needed — the output preserves every bit of the original audio.
Click Convert. Convertessa writes each WV file alongside the original and marks each track complete as it finishes.
Images, audio, video, documents, archives and eBooks — all converted natively, right on your Mac.

Never overwrite a file by accident. Convertessa appends safe suffixes automatically.
Every job is logged locally. Re-run a previous conversion or revisit recent outputs in a click.
Bundle your converted files straight into a single ZIP, TAR or 7z — packaged and ready to share the moment a job finishes.
Right-click any file in Finder and choose Convert. A Quick Action handles it on the spot — no need to open the app first.
Shrink Convertessa to a tidy mini window that tucks into a corner — just a drop zone and a format picker for quick, one-off conversions.
No cloud. No account. No upload. Every conversion happens entirely on-device, using the power already in your Mac. What you convert is nobody’s business but yours.
Script conversions, wire them into your build, or batch a folder from the terminal. The same engine, no GUI required.

Yes. Both Monkey's Audio (APE) and WavPack are lossless codecs. Convertessa decodes the APE bitstream and re-encodes it as WavPack without discarding any audio data, so the output is bit-for-bit equivalent to the source.
Yes. Drop a folder onto Convertessa or run convertessa /path/to/album --to wv in the terminal. Every APE file in the folder is converted in a single batch.
