Your files stay on your Mac.
Mamiya RAW (.mef) files store unprocessed sensor data from Mamiya medium-format cameras in a proprietary binary format. Converting to PNG produces a lossless raster image that any viewer, editor, or browser can open — with no generational quality loss. Convertessa decodes each MEF file locally on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.
Drag one .mef file or an entire folder of Mamiya RAW files onto Convertessa. Batch mode processes every file in the folder in a single pass.
Choose PNG from the output format list. PNG is a lossless format, so every pixel decoded from your Mamiya RAW is preserved exactly — no data is discarded.
Click Convert. Convertessa decodes each MEF file and writes a PNG alongside the original. Resolution is preserved and EXIF metadata is stripped from the output.
Images, audio, video, documents, archives and eBooks — all converted natively, right on your Mac.

Right-click any file in Finder and choose Convert. A Quick Action handles it on the spot — no need to open the app first.
Shrink Convertessa to a tidy mini window that tucks into a corner — just a drop zone and a format picker for quick, one-off conversions.
No cloud. No account. No upload. Every conversion happens entirely on-device, using the power already in your Mac. What you convert is nobody’s business but yours.
Script conversions, wire them into your build, or batch a folder from the terminal. The same engine, no GUI required.
